TV Remarkably clued up Doctor Who regeneration guide from The Guardian. The McGann guide is one of the rare occasions when mainstream media acknowledges that the character appeared in more than the tv movie. The suggestion that he might have gone dark for the Time War isn't entirely without foundation. He's a fairly dark figure in some of the audios and he managed to destroy Gallifrey in the novels during a different time war. He was a busy chap.
