unguarded moments

Photography The James Hyman Gallery in London currently has an exhibition collecting paparazzi depictions of Bridget Bardot. Many feature the actress in unguarded moments on film sets, including this funny shot from during her work on Viva Maria in which she appears as Chaplin
Her colleagues - fellow artistes, production staff, camera crew, stage handlers - were wildly enthusiastic about her splendid impersonation of Charlie Chaplin. Emerging from her trailer complete with little moustache, bowler hat, cane and outsize boots, she shuffled and swivelled on her heels and looked endearingly pathetic. Considering Brigitte did not remember seeing a Chaplin film, the act came off remarkably well.
In our world, so saturated by digital photography, some of these images seem very precious indeed.
