Easily pleased

TV Behind The Sofa's gone into meltdown. Again. I decided to throw a positive review of last night's Doctor Who episode Fear Her at it early on to see if I could get something to stick, but it's just sliding off the page. Personally I laughed with the programme enough times to say it was funny and grinned muchly at the end but I think I'm easily pleased of late.

Isn't it primarily supposed to be a kid's TV show ??!! Just wondering . . .

Well yes, but inevitably it's got as bit more complicated than that. Because the show was broadcast for so long originally and has built up a body of fans who've grown up in the mean time, there's sort of a two version of the franchise. The one that's on tv at the moment is a family show and the related merchandise is directed at that audience, whereas the spin-offs from the original show have been catering for that grown up audience and so I think we're all kind of stuck in this bizaree place were expectation is outstripping what's possible at 7pm on a Saturday night.
